THE CHALLENGE
This is a project in Norway. The local temperature can drop to minus 30 ℃. Moreover, under such a low temperature, the traditional TPE or TPU cables will become fragile and difficult to manage, because they are easy to break, which brings potential safety hazards to users. In the whole cold winter, snow covers them, making it impossible to charge their electric vehicles outdoors, because during this period of time, everything is usually covered by thick ice! This is also a huge challenge for the IP rating and electrical performance of EV charging stations.
OUR SOLUTION
We equip all the EVSE with specially customized TPU cables which can maintain cables’ flexibility in extremely cold temperatures, and large particle lines are added to the cables’ surface that not only distinguish them from ordinary cables in appearance, but also make them feel better and more non-slip.
We also use customized sealing devices to ensure that EVSE do not deform or contract in extremely cold conditions. At the same time, a high-performance antifreeze coating has been added to the interior and industrial LCD displays for extremely low temperatures to ensure stability.
And considering the ease of use, we recommend the client to use a spring wire for quick collection in complex climates. The effect is very good.
SUMMARY
In extremely cold climates, the use of charging stations is much more demanding, requiring not only a very stable performance of the product itself, but also extensive project experience from EVSE manufacturer.
